TRAINING ROMA WOMEN IN TRADITIONAL FASHION

The action plan, titled: Romfashion is a pilot one and will be implemented by a multilateral partnership of seven partners from five different countries. The duration of the project will be two years (11/2008 to 10/2010)
	A cycle of vocational training, designed for Roma people, will take place in each of the partners’ countries. The training will regard “the design, production and promotion of traditional Roma dresses”, and will take place within an educational environment similar to a residential or communal production unit.
	The action plan is innovative, as it aims at the development ofthe professional skills for the specific target group, through a combination of modern educational methods and traditional practices of organizing and producing, which reflect the cultural identity of the Roma community.
